This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.

This is not our HIPAA notice

This policy covers the website. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices.

If you become a client, the health information we create and keep as your healthcare provider is governed by a separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which you will be given at your first visit and can request from us at any time. Information you type into a form on this website before you are a client is handled under this policy.

What you give us

If you fill in the inquiry form, we receive what you enter:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• The day and time of day you would prefer for an appointment
• The condition you are asking about, what you are hoping treatment will do, and what you have already tried
• Which location you prefer, and how you heard about us
• Anything else you choose to type in the notes field
• Whether you consented to receive text messages

You choose what to put in that form. If you would rather not put your condition in writing, call or text (619) 397-1391 instead — you will get the same answers.

What we collect automatically

Like most websites, this one records technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or ad that sent you here. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use it

• To call or email you back about your inquiry, usually within one business day
• To answer your questions about cost, candidacy and scheduling
• To send follow-up emails, and text messages if you consented to them
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site
• To measure whether our advertising is working

Who else sees it

We use a small number of outside services to run this site. Each one receives only what it needs:

• ActiveCampaign — hosts the inquiry form and stores your details so our team can follow up; also sends our emails and text messages
• Google Analytics — anonymous statistics about site usage
• Google reCAPTCHA — stops automated spam submissions on the form
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — measures our advertising
• Kinsta — hosts the website itself

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing.

Something worth knowing about tracking

Pages on this site are named after the conditions they discuss. When analytics and advertising tools record which page you viewed, the page address itself can suggest what you were reading about.

We think you should know that rather than find it buried in a policy. If you would prefer to avoid it, any of these work:

• Use a browser or extension that blocks trackers, or private browsing
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
• Adjust your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account
• Skip the site and call us on (619) 397-1391

Text messages

We only text you if you ticked the SMS consent box on the form. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not affect your care or your ability to book.

Emails

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops the marketing emails; we will still reply to you directly if you have asked us a question.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information
• Stop contacting you

We will not treat you differently for making a request.

How long we keep it

Inquiry details stay in our system so we have context if you contact us again. If you ask us to delete them, we will — except where we are required to keep records, which applies to clinical records rather than website inquiries.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection and our systems are password protected with access limited to staff who need it. No website or database is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — which is another reason not to put anything in the notes field that you would not want stored.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another website, that site has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
