Conditions We Treat

If It’s Been Hurting More Than Six Weeks, Start Here

Shockwave is not a general pain treatment. It is specifically good at chronic tendon, fascia and bone-interface problems that have stopped healing on their own. Here is what that covers — and what it doesn’t.

Where We Have The Most To Say

Eight Problems We See Most Often

Each of these has its own page — what is actually going wrong, why the usual treatments miss it, and what a course looks like.

Be Honest With Yourself

What Makes Someone A Good Candidate

This is likely your treatment if…

✓  It has been going on more than six weeks — often months or years.

✓  It is a tendon, fascia or bone-interface problem rather than a joint replacement conversation.

✓  You have already tried rest, ice, orthotics, a strap, or a course of standard physical therapy.

✓  You have been offered a cortisone shot — or had one, and it wore off.

✓  Someone has said the word surgery and you are not ready for that.

This is not your treatment if…

×  The injury is days or a couple of weeks old. Let the acute phase run.

×  There is a complete rupture or a fracture.

×  You are pregnant, on blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder.

×  There is a tumour, active infection, or an open wound in the treatment area.

×  There is a pacemaker or metal implant close to the site.

Candidacy is settled by examination, not by a list on a webpage. If the honest answer is that shockwave won’t help you, you will hear that on the phone before you book anything.

Had an X-ray, MRI or ultrasound on this? Find the written report before we talk — not the images, the report. It changes the whole conversation about whether this is your treatment.
